Filling the incense burner with ash up to 70~80% full.

Fill the incense burner with ash. If the ash you have been using before in your incense burner became firm and rigid, use the metal or splittable chopsticks and stir it gently from the bottom of the vessel. Remove the unburnt pieces if they appear. Adjust the ash in a way to make the surface flat.

Burning instructions

Light the tip and place the incense vertically.

After lighting, extinguish the flame by waving your hand towards it and stick the incense into the ash in the middle of your incense burner. Keep placing it vertically until you are sure it is stable. You can also break the stick and place it over the ash horizontally.
【In case of using a plate】Put an incense holder in the middle of the plate and stick the incense to be sure it is stable.

※Attention※

Be careful not to stick the incense diagonally. If it is tilted too much, the stick may fall down or the ash may scatter outside the burner.
【In case of using a plate】Make sure the incense does not stick out the edge of your plate.

〈Hints〉

・Be present nearby until the incense stops burning completely. Do not try to extinguish the incense by blowing on it.
・Refrain from using one incense right after another. There still may be some burning parts underneath the ash and the flame may transfer into the next incense. The incense may break and fall down this way.
・Avoid burning in windy places.
